Utility Traffic Control

Utility work never sits still — crews leapfrog down the line, scopes change daily, and the schedule is the schedule. We built our operation around that reality: consistent crews, daily coordination, and the capacity to scale when your program does.

What it is

Understanding utility traffic control

Utility and telecom construction has a traffic control rhythm of its own. Aerial crews move fast along the road; underground crews open and close bores and pits; splicing teams park in the right-of-way for hours. Each needs the right control — flagging, shoulder closures, lane closures, or mobile operations — coordinated day by day, often across multiple simultaneous crews and jurisdictions.

This is our core market. Our biggest success story started with two crews supporting a fiber program in North Carolina; within months we scaled to fifteen crews across aerial and underground construction, and opened a permanent branch and yard to support the operation. That's the model we bring to power, gas, water, and telecom clients: a partner that grows with the program instead of maxing out.

Scope

What's included

  • Dedicated crews assigned to your program for consistency
  • Daily coordination with your construction leadership
  • Flagging, closures, and mobile operations as the work requires
  • Field supervision across all active crews
  • Fleet, signs, and device inventory staged at our yards
  • Scaling capacity — add crews as production ramps

How we execute

From call to close-out

01

Program onboarding

We learn your build plan, production targets, and safety requirements, then staff dedicated crews who stay with the program and learn how your foremen work.

02

Daily dispatch

Locations and scopes are confirmed the day before; crews arrive early, set the zone, and move with your operation throughout the day.

03

Scale on demand

When production doubles, so do we — with yard inventory, trucks, and trained personnel ready. Two crews became fifteen on our flagship fiber program.

Why Traffik

What makes our utility traffic control different

  • Proven scaling: 2 → 15 crews on a single fiber program, with a dedicated yard opened to support it
  • Consistent, program-assigned crews — not a different roster every morning
  • We watch the job site and the traffic, moving devices so your crews keep producing
  • 24/7 support for outages, emergencies, and storm work within the program

FAQ

Utility Traffic Control — common questions

Can you support multiple crews at once?
Yes — simultaneous multi-crew support is our specialty. We've run fifteen crews on a single program, backed by field supervisors and a dedicated equipment yard. Tell us your production plan and we'll build the staffing model.
Do you work with prime contractors or directly with utilities?
Both. We support utility companies directly and work under prime and subcontractors on their programs. Our insurance ($1M/$2M general liability, commercial auto, workers' comp) and safety documentation are ready for vendor onboarding.
What happens when the build moves to a new area or state?
We move with it. We're licensed in Florida, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Minnesota, and we mobilize crews and equipment to additional markets based on project needs — the same way we opened a permanent North Carolina branch when a program grew there.
Can the same crews handle storm response for our utility?
Yes. Program crews already know your people and standards, which makes them the fastest possible emergency resource. Our 2024 hurricane deployments across Florida ran on exactly that model.
